Truck Tent Pole Replacement: Getting the Right Part

A small part can make a big difference

When a tent pole does not match the tent, forcing it into position is not the answer. A replacement needs to match the specific tent model and the position of the original part.

In one Lanceton support case, a customer reported that a white pole appeared too short and had fewer sections than expected. The support conversation focused on identifying the part and arranging a replacement rather than asking the customer to purchase a whole new tent.

The process took longer than it should have, and the customer had to follow up. After the replacement arrived, however, the customer confirmed that it fitted correctly. The positive outcome was a correctly matched part, not a fast turnaround. That distinction matters.

What to include in your request

  • Your order reference and the tent size you purchased.
  • A photo of the tent label or the selected product variant.
  • A photo of the entire pole and a close-up of the problem.
  • The pole's position in the tent, its color and the number of sections.
  • A measured length, if it can be obtained without handling sharp or damaged material.

Color is a helpful clue, but it is not a complete part number. Do not assume that a pole from another tent size will fit simply because it looks similar.

Before your next trip

Allow time to identify the part and confirm availability. If a pole is cracked or splintered, stop using it and avoid handling exposed fibers. Do not force a pole into a sleeve or fitting to make an incorrect length work.

Once the replacement arrives, check it against the tent's instructions before travelling. Let support know whether it fits, so the conversation can end with a verified solution rather than a shipping notification.
