Lanceton Truck Bed Tent Setup: Lessons from Brother Jason's Review

Planning your first truck-camping weekend? A real installation video can help you understand the process before you arrive at camp. In LANCETON Truck Bed Tent Review, Living In Fleming with Brother Jason demonstrates his first setup on a 2012 Nissan Titan Crew Cab with a 5.5-foot bed.

What the video shows

Published in April 2024, the review follows unpacking, loose strap attachment, pole assembly and final adjustments. Jason reports approximately 15-20 minutes for his first installation; that is his experience, not a guaranteed setup time.

He describes a windy overnight stay but says there was no rain. This is not a controlled wind or waterproofing test. The footage shows an older purchase; use current product specifications and the instructions supplied with your tent.

Our checklist before your first trip

The following is Lanceton's general preparation advice, separate from the creator's review.

  1. Measure before selecting. Measure the interior bed length with the tailgate closed. Check the current fit guide and your bed configuration, including any tonneau cover, toolbox or other obstruction. The store's 5.5-6 ft and 6.5 ft options are separate size selections, not a promise that one tent fits every pickup.
  2. Prepare a clean bed. Remove sharp objects and debris before laying out the tent. A fabric floor does not replace checking for hazards underneath.
  3. Practice in daylight. Follow your supplied instructions, identify the poles and attachment points, and avoid forcing a pole or zipper. Ask another person to help if needed.
  4. Check sleeping gear separately. Confirm mattress dimensions against your usable sleeping space. Do not assume a mattress is included.
  5. Plan for the forecast. Maintain ventilation, inspect straps, and choose another shelter when conditions exceed safe camping limits. Never drive with the tent installed. Never run the engine or use fuel-burning heaters or stoves while occupying the tent.

Choose your fit, then care for your tent

See the Lanceton Pickup Truck Tent for current sizes, specifications and availability. After camping, clean and dry the tent fully before storing it; our truck tent care guide covers the next steps.
